Crafty Shivoo showcased her exceptional talent and speed in a stunning performance during the Coral Brighton Belle heats at Hove on Saturday. Trained by Mark Wallis, Crafty Shivoo, a former winner of the Irish Oaks, demonstrated her class once again by dominating heat three with remarkable ease.
From the moment the race began, Crafty Shivoo surged ahead, leaving her rivals trailing behind. With impressive acceleration, she quickly established a commanding lead, turning the race into a one-dog show. Despite a valiant effort from Havana Bale Out, Crafty Shivoo maintained her pace to cross the finish line comfortably, securing victory with a five-length lead. Her exceptional performance was reflected in the winning time of 29.80 seconds for the 515m trip, setting a high standard for the competition.
In the following heats, other contenders showcased their prowess, including last year's winner Betsys Bullet, trained by Belinda Green, who began her title defence in splendid fashion by leading from start to finish in heat four.
Paul Young also enjoyed success with a double victory, as Droopys Auntie and Bubbly Bombay triumphed in heats five and six, respectively. Nathan Hunt, another accomplished handler, secured a win with Allowdale Cazoo in heat two.
Due to an incident in the opening heat, lots were drawn to determine places in the semi-finals, which promise to deliver thrilling contests. With a line-up of formidable contenders, including Crafty Shivoo, Betsys Bullet, and other top-class racers, anticipation mounts for the upcoming races.
