Catunda Ciaran Continues Winning Streak

Catunda Ciaran stole the show at Nottingham, securing his fifth consecutive win in impressive fashion.

Stephen Naylor has this talented son of Dorotas Wildcat in peak form, with last night’s victory adding to his growing list of achievements. Prior to this success, Catunda Ciaran had already claimed three open race wins at Sheffield and an A1 victory. Known for his strength over the four bends, one of his standout performances at Sheffield saw him outrun Birmingham Cup finalist Unanimous Leon.

The other heat of the Gents Standard wasn’t as straightforward, with Crafty Elmo emerging as the winner in a chaotic race for trainer Colin Wilton. In the Ladies Standard, Heat One was an exhilarating contest where Barry Denby’s Triller overtook Jaymir Arlo in the final stages. Jaymir Arlo, trained by Jim Daly, came close but Daly found redemption in heat two with Faithful Friend taking the win.

In the 480 final, Sarah Spillane’s Links Weapon seized the lead at the first turn and held onto it for the entire race, securing a convincing victory. Jill Llewellin’s Time Counts delivered a surprise win in the 255m sprint, while Richie Taberner’s Zilzal triumphed in the longer sprint event. The stayers contest saw Peter Holland’s Killaun Dimby claim victory in a commanding performance.
