A greyhound racing champion aims to win the final competition of the year

Classic racing champion greyhound Johnny Whiskers will compete in the Premier Greyhound Racing All England Cup final in Newcastle. This is the last competition of 2023 supported by PGR.

The category one competition over 480m will feature 36 of the country's best greyhounds competing for a £20,000 prize. The top three finishers in each of the six heats will qualify for next week's semi-finals ahead of the racing gala at Byker Stadium. The final of the competition will take place on December 28.

Earlier, Johnny Whiskers from coach Harry Burton's team won the Arena Racing Company Classic in Sunderland. He beat other famous greyhounds in the race, such as Hopes Paddington and Swift Iconic.
